After a two month hiatus, I am back and with a new spin on the blog... goodbye Paris and hello Shanghai!

Population: 23 million
Size: Not that large... meaning there are technically over 400 people per square foot in the city
Language: Mandarin (know); Shanghainese (do not know)
Most recent event: hosted the 2010 World Expo
Claim to fame: being the cultural and economic center of East Asia; "The Pearl of the Orient"
My Semester: The Facts...
School: East China Normal University (Hua shi da)
Program: CIEE, Business Language and Culture
Phone: Local. No, Verizon doesn't have a plan for China (RIP Blackberry)
Internet: Not a problem... my VPN is working
Chinese name: 萧曼云 (Hsiao Manyun)
Current predicament: I have been speaking French all summer and my Mandarin has gone out the window. Merde.
